  • This is a Soul: The Mission of Rick Hodes: Monday, May 3rd at 7:30pm in the Scott Room - A Discussion with Marilyn Berger on her book. "This is a Soul" is the moving and inspiring story of Dr. Rick Hodes, an American doctor living in Ethiopia, who has devoted his life to caring for the sickest of the sick and the poorest of the poor. This event is made possible through a grant from the Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library.
  • Swingin Sundays Jazz Series with Vocalist Joan Crowe - Sunday, May 2nd at 4pm in the Scott Room. This program is presented by the Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library.

  • The Power of Half: One Family's Decision to Stop Taking and Start Giving Back: Wednesday, April 14th at 7:30pm in the Scott Room - Father/Daughter writing team Kevin and Hannah Salwen speak about their inspirational experience. They hoped that by selling their house and making a sizable donation to a carefully selected charity, they could make things better in a small corner of the globe. Little did they expect how much they would change themselves. Presented with support from the Friends of the Scarsdale Library.
  • Swingin Sundays Jazz Series with Vocalist Karen Mason - Sunday, April 18th, at 4pm in the Scott Room. This program is presented by the Friends of the Scarsdale Library.
  • On the Front Lines of the Cold War: Monday, April 19th, 2010 at 7:30 pm in the Scott Room - Former New York Times foreign correspondent and long-time Scarsdale resident Seymour Topping speaks on his book and his experiences in international diplomacy. From China to Indochina, Burma to Korea and beyond, Topping did more than report the news; he became involved in international diplomacy, enabling him to gain extraordinary insights. This event is made possible through a grant from the Friends of the Scarsdale Public Library.
