Program Description

Event Details

Join us in the Scott Room for a family friendly Chinese language film. This program works to provide Chinese families with an environment where their culture is celebrated and appreciated through films. Each film will be screened in either Mandarin or Cantonese with English subtitles.

For November, the film will be the 2023 animated historical drama Chang'an. Named for the capital city of China during the Tang Dynasty (ca. 600 CE to ca. 900 CE), Chang'an tells the epic story of the decline of the dynasty during the An Lushan Rebellion. Framed by the decades-long friendship between poet Li Bai and general Gao Shi, Chang'an is lovingly rendered celebration of the golden age of Tang poetry and classic Chinese culture. The film, at nearly three hours long, is one of the longest animated movies ever released and one of the most successful animated films at the Chinese box office.

This monthly event is completely free, and refreshments will be provided!

This event is cosponsored by the OCA-WHV.

Unattended Children

Parents and Caregivers should be attentive to children under their care at all times during the program. Children are not permitted to be left unsupervised by their caregiver unless over the age of 10.
