( In person) This interactive discussion will help participants use time tested, research based, stress free activities to help children in grades pre-k through middle
school. It will provide those who care for and about children the opportunity to truly partner in children's literacy enhancement.

Carole S. Rhodes, PhD., professor Emerita of Literacy Education at Queens College, City University of New York, has won numerous awards for her teaching and research to promote the literacy of children of all ages. One of her most recent awards made her the only Professor to ever receive two Queens College Presidential Awards for Innovative Teaching. A consultant to many school districts, she works with children, their parents, teachers, and administrators to design curriculum and implement effective strategies for reading and writing success. Her “reality based humorous, highly informative” workshops result in her being much sought after as a speaker by parent and educator groups who recognize and value the experience she brings as a classroom teacher. Literacy specialist, parent and now, grandparent. Carole served on the Advisory Board of Sunrise Day Camp for children with cancer.
