Join us in the Scott Room for a family friendly Chinese language film. This program works to provide Chinese families with an environment where their culture is celebrated and appreciated through films. Each film will be screened in either Mandarin or Cantonese with English subtitles.
The film for June is the 2020 animated fantasy adventure film Ne Zha, based off of the classical 16th century Chinese novel The Investiture of the Gods. Directed and written by Jiaozi, Ne Zha tells the story of the titular mythological immortal. As a young boy, Ne Zha is unaware of his nature as the reincarnation of a demon lord and possesses great potential for destruction. He befriends Ao Bing, a son of the Dragon King, not realizing that their destinies are intertwined.
This monthly event is completely free, and refreshments will be provided!
