Event Details
Planning for a financially secure retirement consists of two steps:
First, you need to determine how much you expect to spend in retirement, how much of that will be covered by Social Security or other defined benefit plans, and how much remains to be covered by your investment portfolio. Attendees will learn the underlying assumptions of the concept of the safe spending rule, i.e., how much can be spent from your investments every year without depleting your savings.
Second, consider how much you need to save now in light of your risk tolerance in order to achieve your retirement goals. Throughout the talk, Dr. Mamaysky will emphasize the importance of thinking about market uncertainty and risk management. He will share historical data on stock and bond market performance, as well as suggestions for future self study. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Whether you are currently retired, plan to retire in a year, or thinking far ahead, this conversation is for you.
Please Note: This is a virtual program. All registrants will receive a Zoom link approximately one hour before the beginning of the presentation.
