Program Description

Event Details

This Zoom program is recommended for parents and their high school teens and is a detailed and strategic overview of what students should focus on for a successful college admissions process and how to reduce the stress around it.

Attending this presentation should help families of high school juniors, sophomores, and freshmen better understand the college admissions process and how to successfully navigate the changing landscape.

Discussion topics will include current college admissions trends, admissions strategies, the changing test-optional environment, the importance of researching and visiting colleges to find schools that can be a good fit, a timeline and other action steps to make this fall productive and help reduce the stress around the college admissions process.

We’ll examine the holistic admissions review process, what admissions officers consider important when they review applicants and how students can position themselves to develop a compelling narrative to increase their chances for admission.

We will also discuss the importance of community service, how it can provide an opportunity for meaningful experiences, personal growth and a way to showcase a student’s character. Admissions officers place great emphasis on a student’s character including how the student has given back and helped others.

This Zoom presentation will be led by Ron Feuchs and Jackie Tepper, partners at Stand Out For College, LLC. Ron earned his BA at Rutgers University graduating summa cum laude and an MBA from Columbia University. Along with being a certified college counselor, Ron has four decades of experience in marketing, brand and product development and public relations. Jackie is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and member of Phi Beta Kappa. She earned her law degree from NYU Law where she was a member of Law Review and graduated with honors. Jackie was involved with Penn admissions for over two decades holding a leadership role in New York City alumni interviewing.
