Program Description

Event Details

Do you wish you could be a fly on the wall of the college admissions office? Ever wonder what it's like to be a college admissions officer?

Join Amy Estersohn for her interactive and illuminating presentation, A Peek Inside the Admissions Office, to see inside the decision-making processes that make admissions officers tick. As time allows, there will be a Q&A where you may ask your most pressing admissions questions. Students, parents, and educators are welcome to participate.

Registrants will receive emails containing Zoom credentials as well as background materials for the interactive portions of the program prior to the event.

Amy Estersohn is a Scarsdale High School alumna and a graduate of the University of Chicago, where she worked in her alma mater's undergraduate admissions office.  During her time in the admissions office at UChicago, the applicant pool tripled and the acceptance rate fell into the single digits. She had an opportunity to read over 4,000 college applications from students in 45 states, six countries, and three U.S. territories.
