NYPL docent Joan Marlow Golan will take you on a virtual tour of the iconic New York Public Library’s Central Research Library for the Humanities and Social Sciences on Fifth Avenue at 42nd Street. The tour includes the story of how the beloved Library Lions got their names, a brief description of the building’s Beaux Arts architecture and modern South Court addition, and visits to its most famous rooms Along the way, you will learn about some of NYPL’s greatest benefactors and most famous patrons, and why it has a “lovebirds’ corner.
