Dear Community —
The Scarsdale Public Library will soon move its operations to Library Loft at Supply Field, the temporary facility that will house library services while the Olmsted Road library is closed for renovation. First, the Children’s Room will close for packing, starting Monday June 18 and then the entire Olmsted Road building will close to patrons beginning Sunday, June 24.
Library Loft at Supply Field will open on Thursday, July 5. Some services and programs will continue at the smaller space, with hours reduced at times to accommodate parking for field users. Some programs will be held at other sites — information on this will come soon in another e-blast.
Scarsdale Public Library will offer no services to patrons from June 24 – July 4, but staff will be busy packing and setting up spaces. While we are working to minimize disruption, we appreciate your patience during this transitional time.
A team of Village professionals, consultants and community leaders remains focused on the Library’s improvement project that will transform our library for generations to come. Our dream to modernize this facility is about to be realized! We will be improving our flexibility, our technology and will be fully accessible to all users.
I am grateful for the support from this community helping us remain your central hub for lifelong learning.
Elizabeth Bermel, Library Director
The library renovation could take as long as two years, but when we reopen, the library will be significantly transformed to better serve the Scarsdale community for generations to come.
