Join Jennifer Manocherian as she discusses her debut novel,  Alpha Bette.

Betty Gartner, a 95 year old widow, wakes up one morning and decides to give a dinner party that night for her small family, staff, two neighbors and a medium – and no one knows why.  The story takes place over the course of a day and involves the preparations leading up to the party as well as the back stories of Betty’s guests. Switching back and forth between different points of view, we learn about the motivations, dreams, hopes, and fears that drive them forward.

Jennifer Manocherian has had almost more careers than a cat has lives. While this is her first novel, she has worked in public relations, as a family therapist, divorce mediator, theater producer, musical book writer, screenwriter and now novelist. A longtime Scarsdale resident, she is married with five children and fifteen grandchildren.
