Event Details

Each year the Scarsdale Forum hosts three or more Sunday Speaker events where notable guests discuss subjects of interest to local residents. On Sunday, April 24 at 3pm, the Forum will present the last Sunday Speaker program of the season: "A History of Women in Scarsdale: A Firsthand Account." The event will offer an engaging group discussion by four distinguished Scarsdale residents who have been at the forefront of Scarsdale’s real estate, journalism, government, and civic affairs, each leaving their mark on almost every facet of life in Scarsdale: Lynne Clark, Anne Janiak, Linda Leavitt, and Evelyn Stock. Each of these extraordinary panelists has held titles ranging from President of the Board of Education, Editor-in-Chief of the Scarsdale Inquirer, Mayor of Scarsdale Village, President of the League of Women Voters, President of the Junior League of Central Westchester, community organizer and much more.

This panel will offer their insights and reflections on living and working in Scarsdale, including defining moments they’ve experienced, things that have surprised them about Scarsdale, and changes they have encountered over the years. The panel discussion will be moderated by Jordan Copeland, Associate Village Historian, and Dara Gruenberg, Friends of the Scarsdale Library President and Forum Board Member.

The event will take place in the Scott Room of the Scarsdale Public Library, 54 Olmsted Road, Scarsdale.

The event is co-sponsored by the Scarsdale Forum, Scarsdale Public Library, and Scarsdale Historical Society. It is free and open to the general public.
