Event Details

Join us in the Scott Room for a lively and interactive discussion featuring composer Nilo Alcala and The Music of Our Time director Peter Seidenberg from Hoff-Barthelson Music School, who will explore the impetus of Alcala’s new work “To the Others,” based upon Lola Ridge’s poem of the same title and commissioned by HBMS.

Annually, in a partnership with Copland House initiated in part by Wilma, Hoff-Barthelson engages an emerging composer to collaboratively develop a new work for a student chamber ensemble which premieres the work at the School’s Music of Our Time Festival.

Discussion topics include the work’s development and preparations for its world premiere by select HBMS students at 7:00 pm on the same day, Sunday evening, May 21 at the Music of our Time Festival’s Grand Finale Concert at Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains, NY.
