Program Description

Event Details

One of the functions of a college admissions office is to admit students who will be happy with the experience that the college has to offer.  Happy students get involved on campus, wear college swag (free advertising!), and graduate to become active alumni.

Which colleges are going to be good fits for which students and why?  College advisor Amy Estersohn will provide detailed profiles highlighting programs and opportunities at over a dozen schools, including Ivy League colleges, STEM and business programs, SUNY and CUNY schools, and colleges that cater to unusual needs.

Amy will also provide participants with tips on how to research and experience colleges without going on a campus tour.

Amy Estersohn is a Scarsdale High School alumna and a graduate of the University of Chicago, where she worked in her alma mater's undergraduate admissions office.  During her time at UChicago, the applicant pool tripled and the acceptance rate fell into the single digits. She had an opportunity to read over 4,000 college applications from students in 45 states, six countries, and three U.S. territories.
