Join Dan Glauber and Marcus Renna for a screening and discussion of the 1976 film "A Star Is Born", starring Barbara Streisand, Kris Kristofferson, and Gary Busey. Streisand won the 1977 Oscar for Best Music, Original Song, for her performance of "Evergreen". The first iteration of the film from 1937 starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March. Judy Garland and James Mason starred in the 1954 version, and was most recently remade in 2018 with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.
John Norman Howard, the infamous wild man of rock, is steadily losing his fans and his talent, until one night he meets singer Esther Hoffman and they begin a passionate affair. But her rise to fame and success soon begins to eclipse John's career.
