Event Details

With tax season in full swing, you deserve a complete picture of the taxes you owe and the exemptions available to you. Join us in the Scott Room for a presentation from the Assessor's Office of the Village of Scarsdale. Victoria Sirota, assessor and tax expert, will speak about the 2023 tax year focusing on New York State and village taxes. From the difference between the STAR exemption and STAR credit to specialized exemptions for senior citizens, get the information you need to make effective choices in your tax filing. Copies of the discussed forms will be available for participants to take home.

A special thank you to Ms. Sirota and the Village Assessor's Office for generously providing this informational presentation to the Scarsdale Library community. This program was organized and made possible through the support of Stacey Cook of the Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service and Maida Silver, the Senior Services Coordinator for the Village of Scarsdale Parks, Recreation & Conservation department.

Please Note: While the library can provide assistance in locating and printing specific tax forms as well as connecting individuals with assistance through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide service, we cannot offer financial advice. Please consult with your own accountants before filing or making tax decisions.
