Introducing the Taste the World Club, a collaboration between the Scarsdale Public Library and Apiary at the Library.  

Each month we will provide a small amount of a different spice or spice blend from a different part of the world.  

Cook with the spice and join us for a Zoom discussion of what we each made.  We can share tips, recipes and opinions.  

This month we'll be cooking with Garam Masala, a spice blend that is believed to have originated in Northern India, but is used widely throughout the Indian Sub-Continent.  Recipes for Garam Masala vary from region to region and recipes are often passed down through families.  The most common ingredients include cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, coriander, black pepper, and nutmeg - warming spices - but some recipes can also include any combination of black cumin, black cardamom, mace, star anise, and many other spices.
