Making and Crafting at the SPL

We are happy to share some of the latest offerings for Scarsdale residents. There are now even more reasons to sign up for a Scarsdale library card!

With your SPL card you can now reserve a session with the latest equipment in our Makerspace. Check back often as more equipment will become available  soon!

The Library has just subscribed to Craft & Hobby, a fantastic resource for all things crafty, and hobbies that include fitness and photography.



Craft & Hobby

Explore in-depth online instructional videos and classes that span 22 different creative categories, and learn a new hobby or improve your skills in an existing area. With Craft & Hobby’s on-demand streaming videos, learn whenever and wherever you choose!

Craft & Hobby features thousands of classes taught by world renowned experts, who walk you through each technique clearly with step-by-step demonstrations, providing expert tips and tricks along the way.

From painting, fitness, woodworking, photography, fiber arts, and even cake decorating, there are so many fun and inspirational videos to help engage you as you explore a new (or favorite) hobby.

Delve into the world of crafts including painting & drawing, sewing, crochet, knitting and quilting. Explore new hobbies like cake design, photography and woodworking. Enhance your workout routine with yoga, barre, cardio, strength training workouts, and more.

The Scarsdale Public Library's makerspace is a space that encourages creative collaboration, innovation, and learning in a supportive environment using our resources and tools.

Residents have access to a variety of equipment for individual or collaborative use. You can reserve equipment with your Scarsdale Library card HERE

The Library is hosting MADLab programs in partnership with the Scarsdale Action for Youth group from Scarsdale Edgemont Family Counseling Service. These programs for all ages offer a variety of opportunities to explore the equipment in the makerspace, create and learn collaboratively, and have fun!

We hope you will join us to explore all the Makerspace has to offer as we continue to grow this valuable community resource.
